Pre-construction Engineer
Job location: Brooklyn, NY
Responsibilities
Responsible for setting up and maintaining preconstruction project records, analyzing assigned projects, and preparing permits for construction.
Duties include: maintaining communication with clients/architects to determine needs and representing the company during the pre-construction phase of the project; working with Project Managers on resolving pre-construction RFI’s; working with expeditors companies and directly with the Department of Buildings (DOB) and (Department of Transportation) DOT on issuing of new building permits and tracking permit status for ongoing projects; maintaining Projects-Related Inspection Letters for Scaffold and Sidewalk Sheds; resolving construction-based violations (preparing and submitting Certificates of Correction, working with violation lawyers, responsible project managers, foreman, and expeditors on violation resolutions); and preparing of Project-Based Structural Calculations, Details (with drafters) for Professional Engineer’s review.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or closely related field plus 12 months of experience as a Pre-Construction Engineer or closely related position. Experience which may have been obtained concurrently must include 12 months of experience with resolving pre-construction RFI’s; obtaining new building permits and tracking permit status; and resolving construction-based violations. Salary: $101,878/year.
