History
Founded in 1817, General Theological Seminary at 440 West 21st Street is the oldest Episcopal seminary in the United States. The campus developed throughout the nineteenth century and includes a group of Gothic Revival and collegiate-style buildings used for education, worship, and residential life.
In 2023, the site became home to the Vanderbilt University – New York City Campus, introducing new undergraduate and graduate programs while continuing its educational role. As part of this transition, NOVA Construction Services was engaged to complete restoration work across multiple historic buildings, including roofing replacement, masonry and stone repairs, and the preservation of existing architectural features.
