History
Located at 236 West 86th Street on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, St. Paul & St. Andrew United Methodist Church is a historic institution known for both its distinctive architecture and community impact.
The congregation began as St. Paul’s Methodist Church in 1834, relocated to its current home in 1897, and joined with St. Andrew’s Methodist Church in 1937 to form the church as it exists today.
Beyond its architectural presence, St. Paul & St. Andrew has long been a center for community engagement, serving generations of New Yorkers. Today, it stands as a valued landmark, celebrated for its history, design, and ongoing dedication to supporting the local community.
